I see a fellow building a scaffold and a lose drainpipe. Also a lot of the cladding is disappeared. Its not your house I hope.In the netherlands al the cladding and the tiles on the roofs are laid so that wind from the south west cannot get under it because otherwise on corners the stuff will fly off by the first stiff breeze.
I understand it's still really bad in the northeast, but it's not on the news anymore. If this is your place, Andy, I hope it's repaired quickly and your home owner's insurance covers it.
I am continually stunned when I see the damage that Sandy caused. Living here in hurricane central we haven't seen as much damage as Sandy caused in a long...and I hope even longer..time.
I've put lots of siding on Habitat houses. This job isn't too bad so long as there is someone on the ground to cut the lengths. Dramatic photo from this angle.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got off easy but any damage is just too much. Sorry for the Hurricane doing such mess for everyone.
ReplyDeleteOh, no fun. I'm glad it wasn't worse for you.
ReplyDeleteIncredible how widespread the damage from Sandy has been (I also hope this is not your house!)
ReplyDeleteMakes you realize how the idea of "safe" is sometimes an illusion.
