I was trying to explain my fascination with the different styles of these towers to a friend of mine as we drove along the highway yesterday. At first she thought I was just strange, but on the return drive home she began noticing them, too. I see them as sculptural necessities.
We refer to them a 'Electric Men'. They built new transmission lines near my home when I was a child and we used to climb and play on these. One time. I climbed near the top, it was pretty scary, but it was a great view.

DeleteWe recently were out of electricity because of a nasty storm, only 24 hours but realized quickly how dependent we are on it.
