This is my weekend weather forecast: Freezing rain and ice pellets have arrived (Saturday) as expected. It is forecast to change to all ice pellets before much ice builds up, with several centimetres of ice pellets expected.
The precipitation will likely taper off to some freezing drizzle Saturday evening. However, freezing rain is expected to move back in, and may persist well into Sunday before changing over to rain. Significant rain may fall late Sunday and Sunday night creating localized flooding.
Ice build up of 10 to possibly 20 mm is likely by late Sunday.
Ice accumulations of this magnitude combined with gusty northeast winds of 70 to 80 km/h may result in considerable power outages due to fallen tree limbs and power lines. |
The winter has not said its last word in certain places of the world yet. Here the spring delayed but it is finally there, even if the sky is not very often blue.
ReplyDeleteI wish you of the sun and the cast iron and especially the stop of the snow
...when will this ever end?
ReplyDeleteSo really cold weather. For me the winter may be going . Hope it will soon in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteAt least there is an opening on the windshield. Nice photo perspective.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty awful sequence, ice is the worst. I hope you guys are safe.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Time for all this to be over!
ReplyDeleteOMG....that sounds horrible! Stay warm and away from the ice!
ReplyDeleteGood grief! No wonder I see so many Ontario license plates down here. In fact, there are a number of people from Ontario right here in the Trilogy resort community. Perhaps you should climb back under the covers until Monday morning and see if anything has changed? But then you wouldn't get "cool" shots like this to share.
ReplyDeleteA late winter, but clean air is doing well.
ReplyDeleteAndy, we call what is on your car as a heavy frost. I have nearly three feet of the stuff at the end of my driveway and removed another three feet from in front of my garage yesterday. Fortunately the snow stopped about ten minutes ago. Can this possibly be mid April?
ReplyDeleteI think the world has flipped it's axis.
DeleteThat was a nasty spring storm.
ReplyDeleteI just finished shoveling about 10 cm of the ice pellets, Andy! It is like heavy sand! No freezing rain here yet but they say it is on its way! Isn't this horrible!!
ReplyDeleteIt held off here last night, but we've been getting a bit of what feels like ice pellets starting around twelve thirty. I saw posts from family in southern Ontario about it.
ReplyDeletePues como decimos en EspaƱa .. Al mal tiempo buena cara,no hay nada que un buen fuego y un buen vino no puedan arreglar. Un saludo :)
ReplyDeleteVery good advice.
DeleteNo snow or ice here--- but I don't think it's ever going to stop raining! Ick.
DeleteI hope you are faring well through all of this. Ice storms are terrible.
ReplyDeleteOne last blast maybe!
ReplyDeleteWe are currently experiences power outages and strong gusts of winds on the Island, but not in my area :) The sun is out and a good breeze.
Oh, Andy! That is truly nasty.
ReplyDeleteoh dear, Winter always likes to throw out a last minute cold blast.
ReplyDeleteWill this ever end, how much snow can you have in one winter? :(
ReplyDeleteYikes! Hope it doesn't get to nasty there! Currently a whiteout here in AB!
ReplyDeleteMust be disheartening. Just wait. Spring will be here, any month.
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible weather this time of year.
ReplyDeleteEverywhere is odd weather now.
