I was waiting in the Mall for my granddaughter who was shopping. It was getting boring so I started looking around and spotted the Virgin Mobile (smart phones) kiosk. I walked over to the gentleman pictured above and asked him if a person had to be a virgin to work here. I quickly put a big smile on my face and he caught on I was only joking. Then I asked him if I could take his picture and he gave me his best smile. Before I take the photo I always warn people that if I like the photo that I would be posting it on my blog. (I am the friend you have to explain to your other friends before they meet me.)

Canada’s Giant $2 Coin

First came the $1 coin with a loon on it. Canadians started calling the coin a Loonie. Then the $2 coin came along and we named it a Toonie. In Campbellford, Ontario this large sculpture was built to honour Brent Townsend, an artist who designed the unique polar bear art that appears on millions of these coins across Canada.

Family Life

The male swan, called the cob, helps the female, known as a pen, to look after their babies, called cygnets until they are a year old. The young don't spend more than one day in the nest once they hatch.

I have photograph the mill in the past but I thought it was due for a return visit. This time my #1 son was there with me. The mill has been a Family Owned & Operated Business Since 1857, and is currently in the sixth generation of the Chisholm Family.

D-Day Lancaster Bomber

Every year on this day I pay tribute to those that took part on the beaches of Normandy in the battle of the repatriation of Europe from the Nazis. Of the nearly 150,000 Allied troops who landed or parachuted onto the Normandy coast, 14,000 were Canadians.
