This cemetery sign reminds me of street signs in Manila where a good number have a "formerly" name under the current name, and still everyone uses the old name. I always wonder why they both spending taxpayer money to do that. (Yes, I know, to satisfy egos. Hrrmp.) Like EG, I like the shadow in your shot.
Love this shot. It reminds me of the small family cemetery where we will place our mortal remains.
ReplyDeleteLove the shadows also. They would be great on the meme Shadow Shot Sunday.
It looks rather barren. At least his name was kept as a 'formerly'.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they changed the name. I like the shadows in this shot, Andy!
ReplyDeletevery nice shadows. wonderful capture.
ReplyDeletehmm, isn't this now a Jewish Cemetery, then? hope no one feels out of place.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very decorative sign, and there seems to be a lot of available space! :-)
ReplyDeleteCemeteries are often good subjects but it is usually the tombstones and not the sign. This one is very photogenic.
ReplyDeleteAndy, you have made a great photo here with the lighting and the shadows. The snow adds to the mystique and the sign is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteBises,
G
