Oh wow! These are fantastic..what a treat. I'm a big fan of all things Americana, and drive in theaters are right up there..also very hard to find anymore.
Oh wow, I love the idea that the employees here might've locked up behind them and left everything as is, 50s movie signs and all. Drive-ins are such a rarity now.
Ooh -- does that ever bring back memories. I don't recognize the movie titles (but don't go all that often nowadays )...but is it still open? That would be awesome.
At first glance I thought the first one was a hot dog and bun! Then I looked closer and saw it was a horse! Obviously this is still open since they are new movies. Pretty cool!
andy...we have a drive in here which has been a HUGE hit for years. last year they got enough money thru donation and the like to go digital...at least I think that is what it is. these signs are so cool. ours is pretty generic. what do you mean that the camera makes changes to the SOOC?
Great signs but the first one must be from a newer day design with all the colors.
ReplyDeleteLove that first sign. It's a classic!
ReplyDeletewhat cool signs...I remember going to the drive in as a teenager...oh my....what fun....ours had the best crab cakes ever at the 'snack shack'....
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. Sadly, I've never been to a drive in.
ReplyDeleteThat bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteI loved the snackbar also. I loved that fishwich smothered in Mayo on a huge bun
and fries and back then I drank real coke. Great shots Andy.

ReplyDeleteLove drive-in movie theaters, and this is a good one. Nothing wrong with showing old films. Fun photos that spark the imagination.
ReplyDeletewe love movies around here and our climate is perfect for a drive-in movie theater. i wonder why we never had a drive-in theater.
