Ready For Destruction
Another home on the proposed airport land is slated for demolition. I don't know the terminologies of it, but I do like the bow shape of the side wall.
You don't call it a bay window? Or is it to much stone in there and to little window? It is a lovely house in a typical, I would call, americana style. But perhaps you should call it georgian.
"Progress" led to the distruction of much of historic San Francisco in the 1960s and 70s. And I wouldn't say that what replaced it enriched anyone's lives very much.

ReplyDeleteI think this is a very sad photo. "Progress" has taken down too many beautiful homes and other sites!

ReplyDeleteYou can see these homes in Stouville jut outside the main town. Andy going up to the 9th line. I am so glad they are not taken down there.
These houses have so much character they beat the matchbox houses of modern homes.

so sad...do you have people who come in and salvage stuff from the house to re-purpose? hate to see all that history just disappear :(
