Monday Men With Beards - Streetcar
The big guy with the red beard is a streetcar driver. The streetcar had entered into a turn and the pole had come off the overhead power line. He had just placed it back on it and was heading back to the driver's seat. Like most public servants there was a time when beards were a no, no.
I am afraid the guy seats to much and move to little. But an all to normal view these days. Is the streetcar company not looking after these facts? Still another time capsule shot of our era. Thanks for showing Andy.
The government requires... Drivers under the age of 46 are required to submit a medical report every five years. Drivers aged 46 - 64 are required to submit a medical report every three years. Drivers aged 65 and over are required to submit a medical report annually.

My eye is more drawn to his figure than his beard....
ReplyDeleteI guess his job description includes more than sitting behind the steering wheel.
ReplyDeleteI remember when that facial hair ban was in place. That driver has to know how to do more than just drive.
ReplyDeleteReally, I didn't know that (about no beards). Couldn't pull off rules like that now!
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice street shot. I know Andy word verification is a pain but I have been invaded by anonymous comments this past week. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteSpammers have also been in invading my blog. Lucky for me Blogger spam control only let one slip through.
DeleteI was more drawn to his gait/style of walking than the beard. It is a nice beard, though.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time, also, when long hair was a no no too. And women had to wear skirts - no trousers. And, for that matter, tatoos were pretty marginal.
ReplyDeleteNever anger a large man with a beard. :-)
ReplyDeleteHe looks a bit befuddled....bearded and befuddled :)
ReplyDeleteEven my Grandsons at 16 to 18 are wearing beards. I was surprised. Times have changed.
