Frozen


Frenchman's Bay does not always freeze this smooth. It all depends on the weather. If it is windy or snowing at the time of freeze up the surface will be rough. Last week the people ice fishing told me the ice was four inches thick.

    Thats a very nice and great ice rink. We would kill in the netherlands to get such a condition but unfortunately not. Also a very beautiful view of course.

      If someone falls through the ice the local Fire Dept. are the ones that do the rescuing. Their policy statement is "no ice is safe".

    The temperatures mut have fallen down very quickly to get such a beautiful ice.

    It does not look very thick ice. Maybe when I'm used to here is always snow on the ice.

    You don't need to use that new ND filter to blur the water, Mother Nature took care of that for you. Four inches? I don't think we ever get ice that thick.

    My brother and I hung out here. Our fav place. He passed on at a very young age.

    Re: your comments today regarding New Dungeness Light Station. It's a 5 mile hike on a sand spit and can only be made during low tide because the spits narrows in places. I posted shots of the station several years ago when we stayed there as volunteer light keepers. If you're interested I can look up the dates and send you a link.
