RCMP Monument
A bronze monument located in Moncton, New Brunsick featuring life-size statues of Constables Doug Larche, Dave Ross and Fabrice Gevaudan, who were gunned down June 4, 2014 in the line of duty.
The three Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constables were among the police officers who responded to a neighbourhood in the west end of the city following reports of a man with a gun. Justin Bourque walked past civilian residents that he encountered, choosing only to shoot at police. He was captured following a 30-hour manhunt that gripped the city with fear. Bourque is serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for 75 years.
What a tragic incident, there are a lot of fools in the streets nowadays.
ReplyDeleteA really nice memorial. Too bad such things are needed. :(
ReplyDeleteOf course its a terrible tragedy but the stand of the three man like puppets of a big children play has also some comic appearance.
ReplyDeleteA very tragic event. Good to see those 3 men are honoured with a monument.
ReplyDeleteA very nice memorial to these brave men. What on earth possesses people to do such horrible things?
ReplyDeleteA sad commentary that there needs to be a memorial for these fallen officers. The statues are well executed, but is is still a sad sight.
ReplyDeleteThese memorial statues make the incident seem terrifyingly real!
ReplyDeleteA fitting memorial. Their names are on the national police memorial wall as well.
ReplyDeleteVery well done, they shouldn't be forgotten.
ReplyDelete...and here I thought that this crazy gun violence was just confined to the US.
ReplyDeleteA very nice memorial that honours the bravery of those three men killed in a senseless act.
ReplyDeleteI remember this incident. Such a tragedy, Andy.
ReplyDeleteIt really is an excellent memorial. And your pictures show the figures quite well.
ReplyDeleteBronze sculptures always fascinate me as I think I can see them breathing.
ReplyDeletelovely monument a reminder of a sad time/day
ReplyDeleteI hate to read these things, and I hate to think that Canada is becoming infected with the same gun insanity that the USA suffers with.
