Cat On The Move
Like any other major city Toronto is under going a massive construction boom. CAT is short for Caterpillar. The company had it's beginnings in 1886 when Benjamin Holt built his first combined harvester in Stockton, California.
I just had dinner last night with a friend who works for Porter Airlines and lives in Toronto during the week. He was talking about all the construction going on in the city. He says you see cranes everywhere. He actually lives in Chicago and he said Toronto has more construction going on than Chicago does.
Does not seem to be room for all the people and heavy construction equipment. We just spent the holidays in Minneapolis, and construction is booming there as well. BTW, Holt and Best merged in 1925 to form the Caterpillar Tractor Co.
This is a street that seems crowded. Ah works, it's always bad times to pass
ReplyDelete...BIG kitty!
ReplyDeleteThey are everywhere!

ReplyDeleteThe spot looks familiar. I imagine I've walked there.

ReplyDeleteI love the hustle and bustle of this photo. I miss that sometimes after leaving the 'big city' a few years back. I don't miss the traffic though lol.
ReplyDeleteThose big machines change everything. We have the same thing going on over here with road work and big machines.
ReplyDeleteThats a big cat, mind you I see them here getting transported around on low lowders
ReplyDeleteYes every big city has constructions going on, the same here.
ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without those big machines - can't imagine how they did things way back when.
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
In addition to the equipment this photo is so "big city." So much is going on. Seattle is like this.
ReplyDeleteGreat street portrait. The worker with the stop sign looks insignificant.
ReplyDeleteAnother super street shot, Andy! That's one cat I would pet very carefully.
