Photographs hold such sweet memories. This one has my one and only sibling... my brother Bill, being held by our Mother. Bill was seventeen years older than me. I am guessing this was taken during Great Depression of the early 1930s.

Ribfest

Ribfest is a three-day outdoor festival that features professional rib teams travelling across North America. Ribbers cook and compete for various Best titles including Best Sauce and Best Ribs as decided by honorary judges.

The Americans Are Coming

Somewhere in the City Of Toronto there is a mural artist that likes Americans. Canadians do have a special friendly relationship with our neighbours to the south.

I am guess it has been sold to a developer(s) and they are waiting for building permits to be processed by the city. This home will more than likely be demolished and a monster (LARGE) home will be built on site.

Tombstone

I have a curiosity about old cemeteries. This grave site is located in the Bethel Church Burial Ground. The church was torn down in 1902. This headstone, along with five others, is all that remains of those still standing. It is so weather worn that the only wording left visible is "Dec. 24, 1895 Age 37 Years".

After 24 years of existence the Toronto Raptors - National Basketball Association team, for the first time have made it into the final round of the championship games for the first time. The fans are giving Kawhi Leonard the credit for that feat. The mural is the work of artists Javid Jah and Moises Frank.

Canada At D-Day

The Holy Roller, a U.S. built Sherman M4 tank that was manned in the battle by members of the 1st Hussars, has sat in London Ontario’s Victoria Park since 1950 when it was dedicated to the regiment. The "Holy Roller" landed on Juno Beach with the 1st Hussars regiment in Normandy roughly 45 minutes after the first assault troops went in. Its gun was damaged two times during the war and was one of only two Canadian tanks to survive the conflict.

Construction

A massive ‘mini Las Vegas’ development is planned for the former corn field. Phase one... build a casino which will have 330,000 square feet of gaming space, with a hotel with 225 rooms and a concert venue. Phase two will include 150,000 square feet of restaurants or food offerings, a luxury retail wing of about 30,000 square feet, another hotel with 350 rooms and with a convention centre anticipated to be more than 100,000 square feet, and 250,000 square feet of film studios. I will be keeping track of the project as the construction progresses.
