School House No.16
View of the exterior of former Atha School House constructed in 1864. Showing the pattern of openings with two doors on the front facade (one for each gender). It has been vacant for a number of years and has been registered as historic place.
It looks pretty good for its age.
ReplyDelete...still a common sight here.
ReplyDeleteThat's a building well worth preserving.
ReplyDeleteNice old school house. Probably a lot of memories made there. Too bad about the graffiti.
ReplyDeleteThat would make a great conversion.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the taggers were not better educated. I see a need for more schoolings.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope it gets a new use, Andy!
ReplyDeleteThe graffiti is dismaying.
ReplyDeleteOld (building) and new (tagging) all in one spot. I think I know which I prefer.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, didn't know there were doors once for boys and girls to enter into.
ReplyDeleteWe've seen a few with two doors like that in the rural farm areas-- unused and decaying.
ReplyDeleteFunny front for a school.
ReplyDeleteTwo the same doors for children, people had such strange ideas in the past....as if nobody had brothers and sisters at home!
