| The original lighthouse was erected in 1734 by the French. It was the first lighthouse in Canada and the second in North America. The lighthouse standing today and pictured here was build in 1923. It is a popular lookoff point and in 2008 became the start of a coastal walking trail. Interpretive plaques mark the ruins of the previous lighthouses. |
A very pretty lighthouse, so nice it is built of wood. Did the lighthouse keeper lived in it as well. Here they always did
