A little Bit Of History

Andy | Tuesday, March 31, 2020 | Best Blogger Tips
Over 100 years old the building has been bought by a condo developer for $31.5 million. It was built in The City Of Toronto sometime around 1874. Over the years it went through various name changes until 1985 when it became Filmores Hotel with a bump and grind strip club. It has remained that way ever since.

Stay Home

Andy | Thursday, March 26, 2020 | Best Blogger Tips
Normally this is a busy street for traffic. As COVID-19 spreads through Canada and infects hundreds of people, the widow of a 51-year-old Ontario man who died of the disease is urging Canadians to listen to health officials to prevent the spread of the virus and whenever possible stay at home.

Social Distancing

Andy | Tuesday, March 24, 2020 | | Best Blogger Tips
Governments around the world are advising people to socially distance themselves in order to reduce pressures on health services and stop the spread of Covid-19. The Province Of Ontario is ordering all non-essential businesses to shut down in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The order will come into effect on March 24 at 11:59 p.m. and will remain in place for at least two weeks. This means that I will be spending a vast majority of my time at home indoors.

Smartphone Monday

Andy | Monday, March 23, 2020 | | Best Blogger Tips
The trappings of technology... do we need to shut it off? 1500 Canadians participated in a survey, which revealed that 17 per cent would rather give up their pets, while 40 per cent would rather give up video games, 28 per cent would rather quit drinking, and 23 per cent would rather give up coffee. The response to pets was the most surprising.

Maverick

Andy | Sunday, March 15, 2020 | Best Blogger Tips
A lot of people would label the young lady on the left as the "odd person out". I just don't see it that way. I would say she is more of a "independent thinker". Being an independent thinker isn’t always easy, it can involve taking risks, such as being unpopular, going against the majority, or being viewed as different or uncooperative. Yes... I know the feeling.

This barn is on land that is schedule for a proposed airport.
___

The airport has been in limbo since 1972. Just a few days ago the long awaited report into a potential airport in Pickering came out. It showed there will be no immediate need for an airport in Pickering until at least 2038, when demand at Toronto Pearson and Billy Bishop Airport could exceed capacity.

Grand Falls - New Brunswick

Grand Falls is a large waterfalls and rugged rock gorge which is a must see. A hydro dam at the falls regulates water flow plus flow varies due to time of season. There is a Visitor centre on site with free parking and picnic tables. There are several breathtaking views from various lookouts to enjoy the falls as well as a zip line to ride across the gorge. The location link is below.

Monday Night

Andy | Monday, March 09, 2020 | Best Blogger Tips
This is the day after last week's snow storm. The city crew have cleaned up the road. I live on a court and they always leave a pile of snow in the middle. When I looked out early in the morning I could not resist the opportunity to go out and take some photos. It was the lighting that attracted me. There was no wind at my level but higher up those clouds in the background were moving rapidly left to right.

This is the only day of the year that the sun rises one hour later than it did yesterday. Daylight Saving Time goes into effect today, Sunday March 8, when clocks will “spring forward” by one hour beginning at 2 a.m. The shift will essentially make it darker in the early morning hours, while leaving one extra hour of light in the evening.

From my archives of 2014. Pastor Paul in The Town Of Florenceville, New Brunswick had a vision in the late 1980s that he was supposed to build an ark. Construction began in 1993. The ark is two stories high and about two thirds the size of the ark as described in the Bible. It serves as the dormitory for the Bible college that the pastor also started.
