The Whitevale Church was originally built in 1884 as a Methodist Church and had its Church Dedication in February 1885 with “congregations overflowing”. The church later converted to become Whitevale United Church in 1925. In 2009 the church Presbytery put the building and land up for sale. It was purchased by the parish of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece and was converted to an Orthodox Church. On January 31, 2010, it reopened on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son. Over 350 people attended. |
