Signs, Signs - Ships Start Here

Taking their name from a campaign that was launched to promote community and political support for a ship building contract. It paid off with the awarding of a $25-billion contract to Irving Shipyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

  2. There's been lots of news about the contract. But I don't really understand this sign. What does a ship have to do with cinnamon?

  7. Halcyo, it has nothing to do with cinnamon. I would say the owner decided to use his store front window to advertise in favour of Halifax getting the ship building contract.
