Keep em I'll stick to CD's and downlaods
ReplyDelete...snap, crackle and pop!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, we had to change the whole equipment and put away our records (although I still have some, just to look at the beautiful album covers....)
ReplyDeleteMe neither - I've gotten rid of anything to play them on. But it's kind of fun to look at the old albums anyway.
ReplyDeleteI do like the album covers. I still have a record player, gathering dust.
ReplyDeleteI'm not either. I think the people in your photo never really experienced LP's so it's a novelty to them.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed the art on the record covers. Don't miss having them though, they took up lots of space.
ReplyDeleteI still have some!
ReplyDeleteI kept a few unusual ones and I still have a working turntable. I don't miss the scratches.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of shops here that have gotten into selling them in a big way.
ReplyDeleteI would go back if I would have a player. Great capture!
ReplyDeleteYears after getting rid of the LPs and switching to CD's I wondered why I wasn't listening to my faves anymore (classical). I read about a very good budget cartridge and decided to buy one. I'm now listening to vinyl 80 percent of the time--- and loving my old faves. It makes no sense whatsoever, but a 1960 LP really does sound better than the same recording on CD. You DO have to have a decent turntable, a decent cartridge, and a good pre-amp though.
ReplyDeleteWe let go of hundreds of them when we moved to Washington. Vinyl was a big part of our lives but it was filled with the pops and crackles of the abuse they took. And they got plenty of that back in the day.
