The government is putting more and more restrictions on where people are able to smoke. For me that is good news. |

Yes here the same, a good development I think.
ReplyDeleteNice street photography Andy.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDelete...good news, but a sad picture.
ReplyDeletei wonder if she saw this picture, how she would feel about it?? i think she looks "rough"...i would not want to appear that way!!
ReplyDeletelot's of restrictions here too but most people don't adhere to them!! i don't say anything anymore because the hubs asked me not to!!
The original photo was taken in colour. I switched it to B&W which changed the mood of the scene. In colour she does not look rough at all.
DeleteAnd the more restrictions the better! (They're probably correct when they say us "quitters" re the worst critics!)
ReplyDeleteI agree. Count me in as a ex.
DeleteAside from the occasional cigar, which I haven't touched in years, I didn't smoke. Cigarette smoking in particular is vile.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I can't even remember when restaurants were smoke filled.
ReplyDeleteI was supprised to see how some visitors perceived this photo - to me the lady (or the atmosphere) doesn't look sad or rough, I see it as a cigarette break that I see all around me so often. and I love that smoking is restricted in closed spaces. I was so pleasantly surprised with a sign on australian beaches - no smoking. hate beaches full of cigarette butts.
ReplyDeletenice street photography, like it in B&W.
I've never been a tobacco smoker so don't understand the need they have but it is certainly getting hard to find a space for them!
ReplyDeleteSuch an unhealthy and smelly addiction. Good catch.
ReplyDeleteMy dad died of lung cancer. Cigarettes are a killer and people should wise up and quit. Can't smoke when your dead. The photo is powerful in b&w. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteI quit many years ago. I don't preach at people, but I DO think that anyone still doing it is nuts! Neat picture though.
ReplyDeleteYou should try living in NZ, the govt has put taxes on tobacco and related products to such an extent where it really is ridiculous. I gave up 7 years ago and am very thankful I did.
ReplyDeleteSame here, though tobacco is still grown here.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot and the black and white adds drama. I spent most of my life surrounded by smokers (and have lung damage to prove it). I took it for granted for years. Now smokers just look stupid to me.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why anyone would take up smoking these days. It's a dirty and expensive habit.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone who smokes tobacco any more. One of these days tobacco will become unavailable. I am looking forward to that.
