Bridge Over Busy Street

Andy | Saturday, January 12, 2019 | | Best Blogger Tips
Cadillac Fairview owner and operator of the Toronto Eaton Centre, back in June 2017 had plans to replace a 40 year old pedestrian bridge across Queen St., West that will connect the mall to both Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue flagship locations. The bridge being assembled adjacent to the shopping centre on James St., will be lifted into place once complete.

I returned six months later to see the new bridge in place and work compled. The pedestrian bridge comprises 200 etched bronze panels and 355 slumped glass panels which give the bridge a rectangular look on one end and gently rounded on the other.

  1. Very beautiful covered bridge that leads from one building to another. I like the associated metal and glass walkways

  11. Nice design. In your first photo it looks like the bridge was made by a sewing machine.
