Monday Night

Andy | Monday, March 09, 2020 | Best Blogger Tips
This is the day after last week's snow storm. The city crew have cleaned up the road. I live on a court and they always leave a pile of snow in the middle. When I looked out early in the morning I could not resist the opportunity to go out and take some photos. It was the lighting that attracted me. There was no wind at my level but higher up those clouds in the background were moving rapidly left to right.

  1. Nice nightshot, Andy! We used to live in a small town in Oregon years ago and when it snowed they plowed the streets but left the snow in the middle of the road. It would sit, melt and then freeze again. A woman crossed the road once, slipped and broke her ankle. Cars got stuck tryting to make a turn. I never understood the thinking behind that process.

  2. A landscape of desolation as often when the snow melts and the rain mixes in. It makes what we call "mud"...

  5. This certainly brings back memories of growing up in Illinois. Our winters looked a whole lot like this.

    1. That was only phase one. They returned later in the day and finished the job.

  10. The lighting is worth the shot but that snow is an ugly mess.
We don't get so much snow around here but only our main roads get plowed. People on courts like yours are generally out of luck. And while our road is plowed there's always a pile left at the end of our driveway. Spring can't come a moment too soon!
