The cameras are identified as a priority safety countermeasure to reduce T-bone collisions at intersections. Red-light running has the potential to cause serious injury or death for both the offending driver and innocent victims. The fine for running a red light in Ontario (issued by a red-light camera or otherwise) is $325. Offence notices are generated and distributed to the registered owner of the vehicle. As a vehicle-based offence, no demerit points are issued as the driver of the vehicle is not known.

  3. So many of the intersections in Phoenix have cameras attached. I see them flash every now and then. Not at me but at cars around me.

  4. I hope it helps. A dingbat in California ran a red and totaled my husband's truck. She blamed him and it ended up a no-fault stalemate and we ate the cost of the truck.

  5. Knowing that a picture will be taken, and a ticket issued keeps many drivers honest. T-bone accidents can have deadly consequences. Perhaps the sign keeps them from happening.
