ABC Wednesday Letter "Q" - Quilt

I failed to ask questions about this disply. I see the USA flag there and 1939 is the correct year that WWII started but the Americans were not at war in that year. So I am assuming that this item was made after the USA entered the war.
What else does "Q" stand for? Find out at ABC Wednesday

  1. maybe it was in anticipation of the US participation, but I'm guessing you're right.

  2. interesting.... I would have thought '1945' would be a better year to put on it, though.

  3. Now isn't that an interesting quilt... 1939... fast forward to now and we're still defending democracy. Good Q post!

  4. Great quilt. Wonder if it was one of the American airmen who came to Britain in 1939 and joined the RAF. I think a few pretended to be Canadian to join up.
