If you see a sign like this one, you are in Mennonite country. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.

This is a charming sign, Andy! Have I ever told you how back in the mid-90s I had this idea of setting up a website for people to post interesting and unique caution signs? Unfortunately then the WWW was not as user friendly and my idea dies a techno-moron's death. But I think of it every time I see a sign like this... and this is already the second THIS WEEK!
ReplyDeleteI've seen caution signs for the Amish down here, but not the Mennonites. The Amish signs show a covered buggy with horse. Pretty cows in your scene! =)
ReplyDeleteNeat sign, Andy. I have seen other signs similar to this in Mennonite country.
ReplyDeleteWish we could visit Amish/Mennonite country again -- we loved it, didn't have a camera (or blog)....thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteI like it! Ours look a little bit different here in the States.
ReplyDeleteI will pay attention to this type of sign. Although I have never been to a Mennonite country.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. It is a bit odd to see both the signs and the horse and buggies. I always wonder how the fuel prices compare...lol
ReplyDeleteA good one!
ReplyDeleteSuch a charming way advising a slow down of traffic! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteI like how detailed this one is.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sign that I don't see in my country! Thank you for your visit on my blog.
ReplyDeletevery interesting...this is an unusual sign for me. great find!

HHHMMMmmm... the closest I've seen to that downunder in Australia is a man on a tractor towing a trailer!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI like it, never seen a sign like that. But I have never been to Canada either.
ReplyDeleteA few months ago, I was riding my motorcycle through Amish country in Lancaster County, PA and saw a buggy sign, but I couldn't find a good spot to photograph one from. Next time, I'll put a small camera in my pocket. I think your buggy is more elaborate.
ReplyDeleteAround here in Alabama, we don't h ave these signs, we have DEER CROSSING!
