A Walk In The Woods

Every time I go into a forest it always reminds of Bill Bryson's book "A Walk In The Woods".

I like to walk off the beaten path.

I have no clue as to why there is a "X" marked on this old remains of a tree. Woodpeckers perhaps?

  1. Not loggers sign then. But how good looks a wood with a bit of sun. Great.

  2. Nice autumn walk with all those leaves. Those marks here means mostly a cut down of the tree....

  4. It is not very dense forest, when the sun gets through. But it is the best place for walking in a beautiful day like this.

  7. I would think the tree's meant to be cut down eventually. It looks dead, anyway.

  9. That's a great book - lots of good laughs. It's out as a movie now, too.
And I'm pretty sure the "X" marks a dead tree that's full of insects woodpeckers are feasting on.

  11. That book you read sounds interesting. I must go to the library to see if it is in.
What category is it in ? Mystery, Adventures?
