The rainbow flag is synonymous with the LGBTQ community and as such the municipality is showing its support by laying down the colours in some of our crosswalks, just in time for Halifax Pride 2016,

Mayor Mike Savage says the rainbow crosswalk pilot project demonstrates the Halifax Regional Municipality’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  5. I like that! It reminds me of the decorations that I used to see up in one Chicago neighborhood. They keep those up all year long.

  6. The LGBT flag looks great in the crosswalks. Sure dresses up the intersection. This would only happen in a few American cities.

  11. I've never seen this before - and I'm from San Francisco where there's a big gay population. I like it. And even if it wasn't symbolic it's a nice color statement, too.
