Never had one here.
ReplyDeleteAn open air cinema??? We don't have them here, never seen a movie that way.
ReplyDeleteHaha - yes. Not many of these around, anymore...
ReplyDeleteHow neat, does it still operate? There are a few left in this area.
ReplyDeleteIt will reopen when the warm weather returns.
DeleteI miss drive-in movies.
ReplyDeleteWhere's a guy supposed to make out, anyway?
😏
That must include me because I know exactly what this is. I have lots of memories.
ReplyDeleteThese are few and far between these days. There was always a good deal of excitement about going to a drive-in theater, but have not been to one in more than 30 years.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you could still find one to photograph!!
ReplyDeleteI remember going to the drive-ins in the 70s and early 80s. Had to attach the speakers to the window. I wonder how many are still around today function as something else.
ReplyDeleteWe still have one in Ocala and it is still in business although we've never patronized the place.
ReplyDeleteWow - a great find, Andy!
ReplyDeleteThe excellence of the drive-in has always eluded me--- Except that they are a wonderful representation of our society in the 50's. Another nice shot, Andy.
ReplyDeleteI know what it is, but the layering or filtering is pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe still have an operating drive-in right here in my community. People come from a distance, to watch double/triple features in the summertime.
ReplyDeleteAh! I know what that is, it's lovely to see one of yours as there are not many left here in Australia at all.
ReplyDeleteI miss drive-in movies, both from a viewing and a photographic stand point.
ReplyDeleteGreat! There are precious few of these left in the world. I remember sneaking in by hiding in the trunk or driving in the back way with no headlights on.
ReplyDeleteOne has been resurrected in our area with six screens. Kinda of like flipping the t.v. remote I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI see from one of your replies that it'll be open again in spring. I can only think of a couple in southern Ontario.
ReplyDeleteNot many of these bad boys left in the States. I see one occasionally when traveling, but we don't have one in my area.
