Completed in 2010, it's part of the Water Front Trail crossing over the Rouge River.

  1. I see the curled in roof. Is it like my Grafton bridge to stop people from jumping?

  2. You are right Ann. It also stops people from throwing rocks and other junk below.

  3. This is quite an impressive new footbridge. The wire mesh along the sides of the entry and on either side of the top is interesting. I guess they are trying to keep people from jumping over. For a modern structure, I think it has a lot of personality and in its own way it quite pretty.

  5. Very nice. And yes, just like Tanya, I noticed the brand new graffiti too.

  6. It's a shame they need to 'enclose' the bridge to prevent bad thing from happening. I suspect the view is amazing.

My perspective on graffiti is strange. I despise it on new things, like this bridge, but actually think it enhances abandoned sites.

  7. Too bad about the graffiti, but I like the style of the bridge. The shadows are also really nice. :)

PS: Thanks for the advice on milk bags, etc. We are going out to look for a holder today. Plus we are visiting a home in Pickering. Keep fingers crossed. :)

  9. This is an intriguing design, with those overly wide triangles requiring some kind of structure included to stop you from falling through. The mesh rather spoils the effect.

  12. That's a mighty smooth lookin' trail. Is the whole thing paved in concrete?
