One flaw in the sign is that it looks more like a muskie rather than a koi. I took the photo on April 14, 2010 and the nursery has since relocated. I've have posted a link for the location below in the post footer. That's best I can do with Google maps until I can actually make a visit in person. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.

these same as Japanese Koi?
ReplyDeleteYes Ann. I would say it's safe to call them Japanese Koi.
DeleteI agree with you Andy. Its more a pike than a koi but you have to do with what is in stock. Still nice to see. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know what a muskie looks like, but this fish definitely doesn't look like a koi. I wonder how much business a koi farm gets? I think they're rather like the rabbits of the fish world, if you know what I mean. ;)
ReplyDeleteKoi are more like the parrots of the fish world. They can sell for thousands of dollars each.
DeleteI have been to this old site, a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteWe are destine to meet each other one of these days. It sounds like we might have crossed paths in the past and not known it.
DeleteOy that's a big koi!
ReplyDeleteThey must specialize in a strange type of koi! Nice catch Andy!
ReplyDeleteLove it! So far as I can remember, this does indeed resemble a muskie. I did not know koi were so valuable. There are hundreds in a little pond at Sholom Park near our home.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's one mean-looking koi there!
ReplyDeleteThat's the hybrid muskoi fish! LOL! Great sign!
ReplyDeletethat's a nice shop to visit.
ReplyDeleteIt is not actually a sign that would entice me to enter into the pondage area, Andy. The least they could do for the poor fella is to get his nose out of the dirt!
ReplyDeleteThat's a recycled koi! :-)
ReplyDeleteNice capture.
Not like any koi I have seen. I wonder how many they sell?!!
ReplyDeleteYup. Definitely a muskie look about him! Never seen a koi with a snout like that.
ReplyDeleteA very interesting sign, I like things like this.
ReplyDeletea wonderful sign. i like it.
ReplyDeleteI love it
ReplyDeleteKoi are so beautiful, they deserve a nursery
Very creative!
