Signs - British Royal Coat of Arms

Andy | Wednesday, August 13, 2014 | Best Blogger Tips

On the left, the shield is supported by the English Lion. On the right it is supported by the Unicorn of Scotland. The unicorn is chained because in medieval times a free unicorn was considered a very dangerous beast. It was believed that only a virgin could tame a unicorn. Never underestimate the power of women, eh. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.

  4. The folk lore behind all this is fascinating. It's hard to believe our ancestors were like this.

  5. It quite beautiful. I don't believe in unicorns. There are so many things I might suggest about virgins that it is best I not say anything at all. Someone told me once, though, that virginity is overrated. I didn't know what to say then, either, 'cause the person who said it was a youthful virgin. Nah, I'm just making all that up. Could be a funny story though.
