The time is one-thirty in the afternoon on bright sunny day. Due to a difference in water and air temperatures fog forms over the water surface. The wind is blowing it inland but it soon disperses when it meets up with warmer air. This is a blessing on a hot summer day. It acts as an air conditioner and keeps the surrounding area a few degrees cooler.
Nice phenomenon Andy. But indeed difficult to distinguish on a picture.
ReplyDeleteInteresting picture, nature is full of surprises.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteSo, you are saying the swamp is cooler. Sometimes it's hard to get a clear vision, but I think you are on the right track.
ReplyDeleteA natural airco, interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe fog does work well for photography.
ReplyDeleteTypical phenom around the Great Lakes. It's almost always cooler near the lake though southern Lake Michigan doesn't get the fog as often as Lake Erie or Ontario. Pretty picture. I'm always surprised, but shouldn't be, how people from other parts of the country just don't get it about the Great Lakes and it's amazing ecosystem or just how big these lakes are. Our wonderful fresh water sea!
ReplyDeleteYou were there at just the right time, Andy!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice shot, Andy!
ReplyDeleteMakes for a nice, moody photo too!
ReplyDeleteSo mysterious! :)
ReplyDeleteThese conditions make for a good atmospheric image.
