Cape Egmont Lighthouse

Located on Prince Edward Island, Cape Egmont Lighthouse was completed and put in operation in September of 1884. It originally had an attached dwelling, which was removed in 1958. Due to severe shoreline erosion, the lighthouse was moved back from the surrounding bluffs in April, 2000.

Just off the shoreline one will get a bonus of Mother Natures's art work. Stand close to the cliff edge and you will see this sea stack. The wind and water have taken their toll on the sandstone cliffs.

  1. Your lighthouses look very pretty but different from ours. I like the wooden construction. The coastline is changing in an artwork indeed, amazing that hole.

  15. Wind and water are two very strong erosion forces. A small lighthouse, and I wish that I could have seen the old residence too.
