St. Paul's Church

Andy | Sunday, August 21, 2016 | Best Blogger Tips
Built in 1750, it is a local landmark and is the oldest Anglican Church in North America and the oldest building in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Wonder why I am the only one in the church? There is a rumour circulating that if I enter a church the roof will collapse. So when people see me enter they clear out. I am linking to InSPIREd Sunday.

  1. I can imagine the people run away for you :). It is a huge church and well preserved for its age, so I don't think it will collapse very soon...

  2. Not to worry. The rumor is false. And Anglican churches last forever. This is really nice. I'd love to see it in person. Not on Sunday morning, but maybe on a Monday.

  3. St. John's in Hampton Virginia--- Anglican Parish going since 1610, present building 1728.... But this one is lots more impressive. And besides that, who cares? They're both remarkable. I love the shot, Andy. I wouldn't be allowed in either one.

  11. This is a real beauty. And so far your nice shot proves the rumor incorrect.

  12. It is very large! I am interested in the ceiling; surprised that it isn't decorated as so many others like it are. Perhaps it's just not the Anglican way?

Holy water tends to boil in my presence.

  14. Being Anglican, I really rejoined looking at this wonderful picture. It is really a huge church. Wish I could see all of those stained glass windows up close. I can just imagine getting married in that church and walking down the aisle with a LONG train behind me. WOW! That would be out of this world. I LOVE my churches. genie
