The ground floor of the lighthouse, until 2009, operated as a post office where visitors could mail their postcards in the summer months. Yup... that's my wife leaning on the rock. |

Bet she loved you taking her photo. Great photos especially the cloudy sky
ReplyDeleteThe multiple horizontal horizons on the first photo are fantastic; enhanced by contrasting colors. And Hi to your wife.
ReplyDeleteMore eye candy!
ReplyDeleteSuperb images. (I know there are lighthouses where it is possible to rent a room. That is on my wish list, to stay overnight in one when it is rain, wind and perhaps storm outside.)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend from me in Stavanger.
I seem to recall a lighthouse at West Point on Prince Edward Island where you could stay overnight in a room.
DeleteA great spot to view the clouds too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The clouds are stealing the show!
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is superb. Frame and hang!
ReplyDeleteI have never been but hope to someday. Part of Canada that I as a Canadian should realy see in person even though your photos are awesome. B
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! It looks like a popular spot.
ReplyDeleteA classic Canadian scene.
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how rocky that particular shoreline is.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is fabulous, Andy! Hi to your wife!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a crowd!
ReplyDeleteNicely caught. I like the first one the best.
ReplyDeleteVery picturesque and full of people!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is amazing. It is SO sharp and clear. I could never take a photo like this. Enjoyed reading about the history of the lighthouse and was tickled to learn that they used it as a post office for a period. That is so unique. A fun post and liked getting to see your wife. genie
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! You had a good day to be there.
ReplyDeleteOh! What a beautiful day! I love that first shot, though I always have mixed feelings about having hordes of people in my photos. (Hello, Mrs. Andy! Looks like you're having a nice day.)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Beautiful photos, Andy! Gorgeous sky in the first one!
ReplyDeleteI saw only once in my life a lighthouse. This one is splendid and very beautiful! Very enjoyable and atmospheric photos!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sky you had, with the rich blue and the puffy white wisps. The top photo is the one for me.
