I took this photo last year. Most people treat dandelions as weeds. At least when they start growing it means warmer weather has arrived and that's fine with me. What else does "D" stand for? Find out at ABC Wednesday.
As a child, I'd gather a bouquet of dandelions for my mother and she'd put them in a little glass jar for the kitchen table. Then I used to love blowing the seeds off into the air and call them "fairies" floating in the wind. Awesome photo! Have a great week,
I think all of us are SO ready to see happy, yellow Dandelions again!! These are beautiful! Delightful shot for the day! I love it! Hope your week is going well!
Brought up with the tale that if i picked a dandelion I would need the toilet??? Have you heard that one before? We are going to have a go at making Dandelion wine & beer! hic! Great idea for ABC Wednesday - everybody will have a memory of this don't you think? Denise ABC Wednesday
You're right, Andy, and it's a long time until dandelion season in Alberta, but I'm visiting my family on the warm west coast. I've seen crocuses coming up - so after C, D-for-dandelion can't be far behind. -- K
Here comes dandelion. Many people don't like this flower because they think it's a weed. For me it's a flower and makes my ground beautiful. ^_^ Happy Wednesday! ABC-Wednesday
Dandelions is such a good D-word! Have you ever read the novel Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury? Nice photo. Purrs, Sara Cat Sara Cat's ABCWedrd-8-D 'D as in Dog'
Oh do I ever miss dandelions. I cannot wait till the snow melts and we see those cheery yellow flowers again.

They are lovely. I just picked the first fresh dandelion leaves for my bearded dragon, he enjoyes eating both leaves and flowers very much.

I sure don't like them in my grass or garden, but I have to admit they are quite pretty and a great shade of yellow.
ReplyDeleteDandelions don't usually appear until the daffodils start dieing off.
ReplyDeleteA dear flower to shoot :)
ReplyDeleteDandelion flowers themselves are not so ugly, we just hate them invading our perfect, green lawns. One day, I am going to try dandelion wine.

I love dandelions and have never understood why some are treated as weeds. I think they are lovely growing wild in grass. Great shot for the theme.
ReplyDeleteWell, another person who can see the bright side of dandelions! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteI love the the first flowering when they line the country lanes, but not later in the year when they are growing through my paving.
ReplyDeleteI like dandelions; I call them the John Deere flower...and they make excellent wine!

Love the brightness of dandelions. I generally have a fairly robust crop! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI like them alright when they are cheery yellow flowers, it's the empty stalks standing in my freshly mowed lawn that I don't care for.
ReplyDeleteGood D word. My dad thought they made good to eat too.
