Someone with a sense of humour has put their own 3D hump in the words speed hump.

  1. In the US, we call them speed bumps. Speed humps sounds funny to me. :)

    1. We used to call them speed bumps also. Then these signs started to pop up with humps on them.

  2. I hate these damn things! But I guess they do slow down traffic. Some of them are too high, though. Good eye on the sign, though. Some people have a wacky sense of humor. Not me, of course.

  3. I understand the sign "speed hump" but the picture above it? Looks like a hat to me!

  4. These are funny. I've not seen anything like either of these two signs, though I've seen references to "bumps." Not having seen too many UFOs, I too think it looks like a hat.

(Thanks for pointing me to signs, signs! I linked up my rooster post today.)

  7. a local TV show recently showed this sign to jeepney drivers here, and their guesses were hilarious! sadly, not a lot of public transportation drivers know this sign.

  9. I didn't know these were now called humps. I still refer to these as the *&^# bumps.

  10. I've never seen them referred to as "humps" either. Usually I'm too busy trying to listen to the noises my old car makes ... just in case something falls off that I need. Great catch on the sign!
