I hate these damn things! But I guess they do slow down traffic. Some of them are too high, though. Good eye on the sign, though. Some people have a wacky sense of humor. Not me, of course.
These are funny. I've not seen anything like either of these two signs, though I've seen references to "bumps." Not having seen too many UFOs, I too think it looks like a hat.
(Thanks for pointing me to signs, signs! I linked up my rooster post today.)
a local TV show recently showed this sign to jeepney drivers here, and their guesses were hilarious! sadly, not a lot of public transportation drivers know this sign.
I've never seen them referred to as "humps" either. Usually I'm too busy trying to listen to the noises my old car makes ... just in case something falls off that I need. Great catch on the sign!
Nice sign Andy
ReplyDeletethat is funny. ha. ha!! (:
ReplyDeleteIn the US, we call them speed bumps. Speed humps sounds funny to me. :)
ReplyDeleteWe used to call them speed bumps also. Then these signs started to pop up with humps on them.
DeleteThis is a new one for me!

ReplyDeleteI understand the sign "speed hump" but the picture above it? Looks like a hat to me!
ReplyDeleteTo me it looks like a UFO.

I wonder if someone was annoyed by the hump or just found the sign to "blah"
ReplyDeleteI didn't know these were now called humps. I still refer to these as the *&^# bumps.

ReplyDeleteI can just see "those kinds" making a sexual innuendo about this sign! hump, indeed!
ReplyDeleteHa! In Eugene they are called "traffic calming devices". Yeah, right.
