Frenchman's Bay Harbour Entrance Reconstruction Project

Andy | Saturday, April 12, 2014 | Best Blogger Tips

The ice is out of the channel and absent from the beaches as well. Now that the channel is clear, operations for final dredging can begin. Work started the first week of April and will take about four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Barging (pun intended) through the water bring up more heavy equipment.

  1. Very common view in this part of the world Andy. If I didn't know better it could be here just around the corner. Like the low sunlight in these photo's. Gives it a real golden glow.

  2. Glad your winter is finally over now. What are those workmen doing during the wintertime, they get "half-pay" or different work?

  3. Hope the weather finally cooperates since it wasn't very cooperative this past winter!

Awesome picture Andy. You mentioned they are down to bring up heavy equipment from what and why? Never heard the like of that but what do I know. I am just a lady who I guess never really pay attention or have never seen that.

  9. One of the nice things about living in the south is that this kind of work can be done year-round and thus much faster. Usually. But I do remember a road project in Houston that took over 15 years and the last I knew still wasn't complete!

  10. The light is indeed wonderful in these shots. Work crews really have to hustle in areas where there are long winters. Reminds me of the saying "make hay while the sun shines."
