In the Province Of Ontario, employers are required to provide workers with fall protection training if the workers will be exposed to fall hazards. Falls are a major cause of injury and death in Ontario workplaces. The vast majority of these accidents are falls from heights even though the height may be no more than two or three metres. Most of these injuries and deaths have happened because fall protection was either missing or not used. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.

I don't have the impression that behind that door lurks death but of course I see only a very little part of the route. Indeed there are a lot of death falls especially in the building profession and I remember my time as trainee on a building place were I had to check the fall safety on buildings in progress 17 year old. If I think of the risks I took then. Brrr. But a reminder is never away. Nice one Andy
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be dangerous on workplaces, but the rules are very strict here too.
ReplyDeleteFalling is a hazard here too but, I haven't seen warnings quite like this.
ReplyDeleteA poignant reminder. There's a lot of thought that goes into those straps, otherwise, the strap could do more damage than the fall.
ReplyDeleteA very good sign and law. B
ReplyDeleteI have a friend whose son lost his life on the job. Very scary!
ReplyDeletea great sign...safety equipment is so important on jobs like this!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that isn't the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop. I don't plan on testing out that theory at any time.
ReplyDeleteI've found myself looking at construction zones, particularly when scaffolding is involved. There are good reasons why these areas get cordoned off.
ReplyDeleteThose signs certainly get the message across, Andy!
ReplyDeleteSafety first!
ReplyDeletewell that sign would keep me inside!
ReplyDeleteWell spotted Andy, the construction sites over her carry strict warnings before you even get through the door...
ReplyDeletedefying gravity
ReplyDeleteOh dear...that's a sign with a good message!
ReplyDeleteGood idea to heed these warnings!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of that old photo of the construction workers in NYC eating lunch while sitting on a beam with not a safety harness or hard hat in sight! One can never be too safe.
ReplyDeleteI can fall right in with the others here and tell you it is a good sign. I was always glad I didn't work anywhere with fall hazards, except walking on icy sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteGood sign. Work place safely is in full swing down here.
