A much-loved West Shore home will remain safe from developers after council voted to initiate a heritage designation for the building. Many residents spoke out about their love for the Georgian-style cottage at 560 Park Cres. during a four-hour discussion at a council meeting on April 16, where they presented more than 1,000 signatures in support of giving the home heritage designation, which would protect it from demolition. The home, built in the 1850's, is one of the last vestiges of an early Scottish settlement surrounding the hamlet of Dunbarton.
A nice house, I am glad it is preserved for heritage designation. Those buildings have to be cherished.
ReplyDeleteReally nice place to live I guess.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for that. Greedy "Developers"/vandals seem to get everywhere. A lovely low angle on this photo too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it has been saved!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute! Glad it has been saved.
ReplyDeleteA darn shame a place like this has to be petitioned to keep. All the same, I'm glad it will still be around.
ReplyDeleteYup, it's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely stone house!
