ReplyDeleteThis one is a nice looking statue.
ReplyDelete(p.s. I like your little poppy, too)
In this case the statue stands for something. Thanks for showing Andy.
ReplyDeletePeace.
ReplyDeleteI love the perspective of this photo! This is such a nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you have chosen this picture as a reminder
ReplyDeleteI like the perspective in tn this shot. The building makes a nice backdrop for the statue.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine Veteran's Day photo. Thank you for the post.
ReplyDeleteWonderful memorial statue to a generation who gave SO much... Thank you for remembering and honoring our veterans today.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Andy!
ReplyDeleteLovely statue in my favourite city to live!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful perspective on this fine photo of the soldier.
ReplyDeleteThis day has morphed in the U.S. into "Veteran's Day." At one time it was "Armistice Day," something more akin to the holiday you observe. Perhaps World War I became too remote to warrant remembrance? The more I learn of it the more I believe it deserves to not be forgotten, along, of course, with the many other wars and the service of so many.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Andy hubby and I wached the service. Loved how the old timer went to the school and spoke of the sadness being in the fields and the kids honoured that and one girl played taps for him. He wa slike 90 I think and he said this may be the last time for him to speak and it was an honour. Bless his heart. A real firm salute for him. It brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteThat was the best part. Teachers educating children about the Hero's. Great take Andy.
A fine monument for a very important day...
ReplyDeleteTerrific sculpture to memorialize the soldiers.
ReplyDeleteYour streetscape captures are without question intriguing. I really enjoy them, Andy!
