I see you have nice bike lanes there. I don't see a flat tire, maybe her chain had broken?
ReplyDeleteBike lanes are one of the best things the city installed on the roads. It seems that motorist and bike riders have little respect for each other's safety. My observations seem to indicate that bike riders will take the most risks.
DeleteMight have a flat tyre
ReplyDeleteI often walk my bike when when tired and navigating an uphill grade, but this looks like an easy, flat surface. Who knows?! Could be any number of good reasons.
ReplyDeleteThat is an unusual sight.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's a new one!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that she was making a way for the pedestrians making their way to the streetcar. Biking and walking in the Boston area is a dangerous undertaking. Neither drivers, nor pedestrians or bikers follow the rules of the road here. To make matters worse - they aren't reprimanded or reminded of those rules so nothing changes the bad behavior. Nice blog, Andy!
ReplyDeleteNice street scene, Andy. Maybe the lady was approaching her destination or there were too many people/obstacles in her path. Nice, wide bike lane though!
ReplyDeleteNice catch, Andy!
ReplyDeleteGood catch! I'm guessing she decided to avoid having to weave among the pedestrians. Imagine that! You may have actually caught someone being safe and polite!
ReplyDeleteYes, a bit unusual, I also wondered if she wanted to slow down for the people and busy-ness. I like the perspective!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she just came upon a place where she didn't feel safe on the bike. Your photo is good for raising questions that none of us can really answer.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice just to have bike lanes in Malaysia!
ReplyDeleteDuncan In Kuantan
Maybe she's not a very confident rider. Or she's tired?
ReplyDeleteThat is a snazzy trolly, he ones in Philly have 'charm' because they are probably 60 years old.
ReplyDeleteWel,I would certainly be walking mine...ahaha. Rode for years and then one day I got up on a rental one and fell off. That was the end. That picture is a bit unusual. Maybe she is just tired of pedaling.
