Before I took this photo she was scrounging through the garbage but she's too well dressed to be a bag lady.

  6. The homeless in our area are usually dressed very well. The other day I was talking with a young guy who had new orange tennis shoes that matched his orange shirt. A lot of it is a reflection of the free social services in the area. Nice capture...makes you wonder about her story.

  9. Bless her heart. I've heard of hoarders going through the garbage. Who knows? It's a wonderful image whatever the circumstances.

  10. Who says bag ladies can't have style? You have captured an urban icon. Well done. As a sociologist once pointed out, American has the best dressed poor in the world.

  17. She reminds me of a woman who would ask for a dollar near Greenwood subway. She had a home and a family in the area but was little emotionally disturbed. Great capture.
