You never know for sure, poverty can happen to everyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks to speculators it can happen very quickly.
DeleteIts a sight you see most often in east european surroundings and don't expect it on your side of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteIt's a common sight in any big city.
DeleteShe's carrying quite a heavy load. I hope she has somewhere to go.
ReplyDeletehm interesting thought, Andy. Maybe she is newly uprooted.
ReplyDeleteIt is very sad to see older people on the street. ugh.
She might have been to the charity shop and got new clothes.
ReplyDeleteAppearances can be deceiving!
ReplyDeleteThe homeless in our area are usually dressed very well. The other day I was talking with a young guy who had new orange tennis shoes that matched his orange shirt. A lot of it is a reflection of the free social services in the area. Nice capture...makes you wonder about her story.
ReplyDeleteThose bags are full to the top!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I wonder what her story is...
ReplyDeleteMaybe not a bag lady, but maybe very poor. She is digging in the garbage for some reason. I wonder what she found?
ReplyDeleteBless her heart. I've heard of hoarders going through the garbage. Who knows? It's a wonderful image whatever the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteWho says bag ladies can't have style? You have captured an urban icon. Well done. As a sociologist once pointed out, American has the best dressed poor in the world.
ReplyDeleteThis just makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteThis photo evokes a lot of thoughts. She may be a hoarder. Very colorful image!
ReplyDeleteHi Andy,
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower. Nice to meet you!
Awful to think about and hopefully she has a warm place to stay.
ReplyDeleteThis does make me wonder about her story....
ReplyDeleteWe have a moderate population of homeless here, some of whom look similar to her. Others, far worse.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Andy. That face has seen some hard living.
ReplyDeleteShe reminds me of a woman who would ask for a dollar near Greenwood subway. She had a home and a family in the area but was little emotionally disturbed. Great capture.
