The first taste of real winter rolled through here overnight. It is a mixture of snow and freezing rain. It is going to be a difficult day for anyone who has to walk or drive in this weather. Later today most of this will melt as temperatures will rise to 5°c (41°F). This is the closest I will get to going outside today. Staying inside on stormy days is a privilege granted to retired bus drivers.

Snow always makes a fairytale image. Better stay inside indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt looks the same here this morning!
ReplyDeleteI just shovelled a path to our bird feeders and that snow is HEAVY! Yep, better stay indoors!
ReplyDeleteWe were suppose to get 6-8 inches of new snow last night, but so far not a single flake. Andy, that same privilege is granted to retired university professors.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and save and have another cup of something steaming.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that this is your first snow of the season. I see someone has made a nice circle in the snow already.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of weather. It started up here in the night and is still going.
ReplyDeleteLovely night shot
ReplyDeleteI just finished shoveling slush away from in front of our garage! It is Heavy!!
ReplyDeleteIt may look nice, but freezing rain is the worst. You are wise not to venture out.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice....from the inside!
ReplyDeleteAt least somebody has winter. We're trying to get rid of autumn!
ReplyDeleteYou've definitely earned some snow days. Enjoy it...and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you: perfect time to hunker down inside with a cup of cocoa. And yet, it looks like you took this photo while outside. Daring do in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteRetired bus drivers are always welcome to head to Florida with the rest of the Snowbirds from the dozen North ))) (or the gray and wet North as in our case). Your picture makes winter look pretty though!
