Last year at this time the light beacons were covered with ice. This year the temperatures are staying above freezing.

  3. The weather is very strange this winter, here we have very high temperatures too 14 C (57.2F), it is bizar. All over Europe it is the same, no snow in the mountains in Austria for ski holidays.

  12. It's pretty amazing, isn't it? I think I can count on one hand the number of nights we've been below freezing. The beacons are really neat.

  14. I keep expecting to see shots of snow and ice. It's surprising to see how mild it is, and odd. We're having a pretty standard winter so far, including sub-freezing nights. (Our weather station predicted snow overnight but we awoke to rain.) We only get snow briefly if at all.
