Dial Phone

At the Arva Mill I spotted this phone sitting on shelf collecting dust. I mentioned to the young lady behind the counter that I would really like to take a picture of the phone but it was too high up on the shelf to get a good shot. She immediately reached up and brought it down to eye level. She did assure me that it was still in working order.

  1. I recall using a phone similar to that one, and not so long ago either...

  2. The funny thing is you knew you was using a phone, by sound and weight. Nowadays you don't have that feeling anymore with all that electronic wizardry.

  8. You're right that there was a good coating of dust. It's hard to believe that these phones are out of date as they were built like tanks.

  9. I haven't seen one like that in a very long time. And, when I think about it, when they were in style I used it all the time.

  16. That's a nice one! I have an old dial phone from the 50's from a surplus store when I was in high school. I bet it still work, it was built like a tank and weighed as much.
