Photographing speed.

  1. Like it very much. Good expression of the speed by the train and still detailed surroundings. On a tripod I assume. Yes your pictures are moving in a higher level. Good for you Andy.

    1. Nope. No tripod. f8, 1/5s, ISO 800. Thanks again SC.

  4. Well done. The bumped up ISO worked well, rather than having to use a tripod. Btw, thanks for the welcome back! I agree about Lightroom -- there's definitely a learning curve with it, but I'm getting the hang of it. I don't do much editing (yet) either, but I love how easy it is to watermark pics and export them wherever I want. If you're interested, Adobe has some great video tutorials on Lightroom. You should be able to find them with a Google search.

  5. Excellent photo of the speed, Andy. I like it.
I was in DC recently, and could have used the Metro to get back and forth from my hotel in Arlington, VA, but wasn't quite ready to do an unfamiliar subway alone, so used taxis instead.
You've just reminded me of what I missed, so it's almost as if I'd been there. Thanks!

  7. Good work! The pops of color are a bonus (even the blonde's yellow hair) and add life to the shot. Nicely composed!
