Monday Bikes - Rent A Bike

According to the BIXI web page it is the most economical form of city travel! The big problem is that the company has run into finical problems. As of next spring, Toronto’s bike sharing network will be run by the Toronto Parking Authority. Between now and then, the TPA will be seeking out a private company to operate the system, as well as a big-name sponsor to offset some of the operating costs. In the next year, the City of Toronto plans to expand the bike-sharing network to 102 stations, with the help of some Pan Am Games legacy funding. Thanks to the Toronto Star Newspaper for the above info.

  1. We haven't seen this type of transportation system here in the desert southwest yet. We are probably way too much of a car-based city.

  3. I've yet to try one! I always seem to be walking - better for spotting things to shoot.

  5. I never used the bikes in Toronto. Riding on the streets there is too scary!!!

  6. We saw something like this in Paris. It seemed very popular. But biking in urban areas seems almost suicidal. We wouldn't drive in Paris for love or money, much less climb on bikes.
