Signs, Signs - Upside Down
"Spatial orientation phenomenon" is very rare but there are people who see the world upside down.

Artsy Chairs
One of the displays from Nuit Blanche (sleepless night). It was a free all night contemporary art event in the City Of Toronto. The massive chair structure is by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. According to the official artist’s statement, viewers are meant to ponder how art made up of inanimate objects can call up memories and traces of people who once used them.

Fish Story
This is the time of year when the salmon swim from Lake Ontario up stream to spawn. Usually this is a good spot to photograph them as they jump over the dam. Really it's not a dam, but a barrier that blocks an invasive species ... the Sea Lamprey. It's barriers and traps like this that prevent adult lampreys from moving upstream to spawn. Look carefully and you can see a blue heron standing on the far side.

Kensington Market’s Garden Car
Located in the City Of Toronto in the Kensington Market on Augusta Avenue. An agreement with City Hall allows it to be a permanent fixture annually from May to October on the street as long as it has insurance on it. In the winter months it is placed in storage so it doesn't impede the work of snow plows.

Signs, Signs - Ghost
The ghost sign originally read "Reid’s Crystal Hall Crockery, China, Glassware, Wholesale and Retail." In the meantime a mural has been painted over the sign... with a catch. The artists decided to take the steps to protect the ghost sign. The team of artist used a clear spray paint, typically used as a top coat, to cover the sign. They covered it with the graffiti proof coating and painted over top of it, so in time, after the mural fades, you can literally just wash it off and the ghost sign will be visible. You can view the mural here. I'm linking to Lesley's Signs, Signs.
Why preserve them?
1. Every one of these signs was hand-painted. When you see how sharp and neat some of them are, it’s amazing what they did by hand and not by stencil.
2. They identify who the building was, who used it, and who was there.
3. It shows you the age of some of these buildings.
