  2. It can't be long indeed, here they are still sailing around with the unusual warm weather.

  3. When I worked in Chicago I used to see the boats that spent the summer on the lake parading up the Chicago River in the fall to go into winter storage. Of course in the spring, the parade went in the opposite direction, back toward the lake.

  5. Love the first shot Andy! Must cost a fortune to haul and store those boats. Snow flurries expected here on Saturday!

  6. I imagine some of the owners have already gotten started on that. Here the Canal is already lowered for the winter.

  7. Yup, last year, we had to chip the ice away before getting the boat out of the lake. That first shot is so pretty.

  11. We've had our first frost, so not long now. It's always sad to see them out of the water.

  12. Boats spend most of their time in storage, but come alive when out on the water. Your first photo shows the potential for sailing adventures.

  13. Yup, winter is almost here. The marina where we live in the summer and fall is already empty. Our lake is a reservoir for flood control and it actually gets drained in the fall, to hold the winter rains.

  14. The sky is perfect, lovely view of the marina.
