Lock It Or Lose It

A bike today has way more technology than it did 15 years ago. It's also a much more expensive item, so what was stealing a $150 item some years ago is now stealing an $800 item or a $1,000 item or more. What thieves like about bikes is they can jump on them and be gone in minutes. It's a type of theft that allows for a speedy getaway, and if you put obstacles in front of that it decreases the chance that they're going to take your bike.

Sitting on the cold sidewalk she is hoping that a passerby will place some coins in the cup. Can one really judge a person in need by the way they dress? At times that can be a difficult question. Then again there are agencies that will help people in need of clothing. The Red Cross and the Salvation Army are couple of names that come to mind. What would you do if you saw this woman on the street? Walk on by, giver her some money, maybe event stop and talk to her?

Spider-Man

His real name Mark Zilio... also known as Peter Parkour. Mark is a street busker that can mostly be found in the downtown core of The City Of Toronto. A former dance instructor from Guelph, Ontario he has been performing in Toronto as a licensed busker for four years. His claim to fame came last November when he assisted a security guard restrain a woman accused of shoplifting. “She was very squirmy, squiggled her way out,” Mark said. “I was working on the sidewalk. I never want to become involved in these kinds of things. I'm not trained to handle someone while they're hostile or needing to be held down, but I do know how to work around people with my open hands.”

I Am Cracking Up

City Of Glass

Building scientists have known for a long time that glass walled structures are less energy efficient than the stone and concrete buildings that were put up forty of fifty years ago. But the market demand for glass combined with the relatively low cost of glass wall construction means the building industry has been happy to oblige.

St Joseph of Arimathea Orthodox Church

The Whitevale Church was originally built in 1884 as a Methodist Church and had its Church Dedication in February 1885 with “congregations overflowing”. The church later converted to become Whitevale United Church in 1925. In 2009 the church Presbytery put the building and land up for sale. It was purchased by the parish of the Church of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece and was converted to an Orthodox Church. On January 31, 2010, it reopened on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son. Over 350 people attended.
